MG Motor Windsor EV deliveries begin on Dussehra, Starting Price of Rs 13.50 Lakh, Tata Motors

Sales of Electric Vehicles (EV) have increased rapidly in the last few years in the country. MG Motor launched Windsor EV in this segment last month. The company has started delivery of this electric crossover to customers on Dussehra. Its prices are approximately between Rs 13.50 lakh to Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom).This is the first EV for which the option of Battery as a Service has been given. In this, the starting price of Windsor EV will reduce to around Rs 10 lakh. However, an additional battery rental of Rs 3.5 per kilometer will have to be paid. MG Motor received more than 15,000 bookings within 24 hours of its booking opening. This crossover utility vehicle will have the comfort of a sedan and space like an SUV. Windsor EV has been made available in three variants – Excite, Exclusive and Essence. It will compete with Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Motors’ Nexon EV.

MG Motor has started the option of battery rental to make its EVs affordable. Due to this, the starting price of the company’s lowest priced electric car Comet EV has reduced to Rs 4.99 lakh. For this, customers will have to pay battery rate of Rs 2.5 per kilometer. Windsor EV has connected LED lights on both the front and rear. It has 18-inch alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. Its front has the MG logo below the connected LED DRL strip. It has a charging port on the front left fender. It is available in four colors – Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green and Starburst Black. Its cabin has been designed keeping in mind the experience of both luxury and technology. It has been given black leatherette seats. Its flat bottom steering wheel is also wrapped in leatherette.

Reclining seats are provided in its rear. The Windsor EV has a 15.6″ touchscreen on its dashboard. Along with this there is an 8.8 inch digital display for the driver. It also has features like automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, powered driver seat and panoramic glass roof. Its 38 kWh battery generates 136 PS power and 200 Nm torque. The range of this electric crossover is approximately 331 kilometers on a single charge.
